P.U.M.A.s first in-person competition since early 2020 saw the return of the Junior Championships on 3rd October. A competition focussed towards our younger members - TKD and KB students under 16 as well as our 4-7 year old Little PUMAs.
The P.U.M.A. Squad entered it's first competition for almost two years. Our team consisted of 14 competitors (yellow belt to 2nd degree; and under 10 to over 50!), two coaches and a great collection of supporters and won 7 gold, 2 silver and 7 bronze medals!
Above those successes, what was really great to see was the competitive performances from everyone and the support given to each other throughout a very long day. Great signs on show to build into future competitions.
Our showcase presentation event to present belts and certificates to newly promoted Black Belt Degree grades as well as recently qualified instructors and tournament officials. Thornbury Leisure Centre. More details to follow via instructors.
11th September in Biddulph, Stoke-on-Trent. Open to all licenced PUMA students, no matter of age or ability, we are all there to improve and help each other realise our true potential! Let's train together!!
The latest P.U.M.A. Black Belt Grading was held in Bristol on Sunday 18th July. Congratulations to all those involved, it takes a lot of courage just to step on the grading floor! Well done to those who were successful, to those who weren't we hope you learn from the experience and we look forward to seeing you perform again in the future.
Great effort for first face to face PUMA Squad session
This Sunday saw the return of PUMA Squad Training and it was great to see students in person once more. Obviously there are still many restrictions which limited exactly what we could do but everyone who attended still seemed to enjoy the session.
We now have a date for our first in-person squad for 2021!
Details will be emailed out to instructors and squad mailing list over the next few days. Numbers will be limited, unfortunately, so you will need to register in advance.
We're really excited to see lots of you training in person again!
The next PUMA Bo Staff Seminar and Grading will be held on Saturday 26th June 2021, 1.30pm to 4.30pm at Chipping Sodbury Sports Centre, Bristol. The seminar/grading is open to all adult/junior licenced P.U.M.A. members (Not including LPs). The seminar has been designed for any student to attend and gain new skills from beginner to advanced levels.
P.U.M.A. squad attended the ITF training and selection day 1 today. Lots of smiles on their faces by the end of the session. Well done to you all, I saw lots of effort put in and I hope you can go away and practice to improve ready for the next session.
Details of this years PUMA Summer Camp have just been sent out to instructors.
We're very excited that we'll be able to hold a full camp once again this year and have a few extra things to celebrate now that we are starting to return to normality.
Due to the ongoing travel restrictions demand for UK vacations is very high and so there are only limited places available. In order to guarantee your spot you will need to confirm that you wish to attend (with numbers) to your instructor BY THE END OF THIS WEEK. Speak to your instructors for more details and we hope to see as many of you as possible there!
